Email FAQs

Where do email addresses come from?

You probably already have a list of customers with email addresses for your website if you are reading this. However, as well as email broadcasting, Marketing Source, our group company, can collect email addresses for you. For more information, visit: www.marketingsource.co.uk

What are your typical response rates for both opening and click-through?

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a typical response to an email campaign. It depends on a number of factors:

  • The creative
  • The target audience (eg: if you send a nightclub offer to the over 60s, there's unlikely to be a great deal of interest)
  • The campaign objective (acquisition or branding)
  • The timing (are you sending a Christmas offer in June?)

Open rates can be 2% or 30%. Click-throughs can be 0.5% to 20%. A good subject line and creative makes all the difference.

Do you design our email for us?

We are not design agency, however we can refer you to a company who will put together a straightforward creative for you from around £300. That's with you providing copy. If you want someone to design the whole email including copy, you're more likely to pay around £500.

Do you charge for broadcasting emails?

No, we charge you for the number of emails you host on our system. You can then broadcast as many times as you like.

Is email immediate delivery?

Many companies often omit to explain this, but the reality is that for larger campaigns (100,000+) email delivery can take a day or occasionally more. Why? After you have broadcasted your emails, the ISPs mail server will collect and put them in queue (store them) for delivery to the recipient's mailbox via their ISPs mail server for retrieval by the recipient. If millions of emails are sent at once, the ISPs can blacklist email broadcasters, so needless to say, it becomes important not to flood ISPs with too many emails in one go. Hence, we offer something called throttling, which ensures a good email flow..
